News and views from the Li Yelin Studio :  Charles Davidson based in United kingdom and Zhang Wei based in Chengdu China. Decided this web site needed a news sheet. We have received many inqueries for information on the artist 'Li Yelin'. This news sheet we hope will prove to be informative.

One question frequently asks: What is a Yelin Cai-Mo painting? It is a unique format created by Li Yelin over a long period before he obtained the quality paintings you now see. There other artist who paint in colour ink and there are those who paint in watercolour, those artist paint using special-colour water paper which is thicker and harder than rice paper. Rice paper is very thin and difficult to us in water-colour or colour-ink.  The Li Yelin creation is different and harder to master because it is a colour ink painting on rice paper, using traditional Chinese art tools such as writing brushes. What Li Yelin create, is completely new format which now is accepted as 'Li Yelin's sole creation.  A famous Chinese British writer 'Ms Han Shuyin' who brought a Li Yelin Cai-Mo painting was excited having discovered 'Li Yelin'. She had heard about our artist, then travelled from London to Chengdu to see his works. She wrote an inscription: "The discovery of a new great talent original yet not rejecting anything from the past". By that she meant the tools and rice paper. What makes the Cai-Mo paintings a good investment is the fact they are an original created format by the artist Li Yelin. One famous collector claimed his collection of Cia-Mo paintings are a better long term investment than stock he holds from the stock market.

During October 2010 one collector of Li Yelin Cai-Mo paintings spotted in this website a nude painting "After the shower" which you can still see in our Gallery "Mixture of paintings". This painting was based in the London collection which was then sent back to China to be collected by the buyer. it was listed here in London at £30,000.00
